Welcome to St Alban the Martyr Church, Charles Street, Oxford.
We are a small, child friendly church, in the Parish of Cowley St John, which is part of the Church of England, Diocese of Oxford. We are the sister church to St Mary & St John Church on Cowley Road. We also have a lovely medieval chapel in our parish, which we use occasionally for services called Bartlemas Chapel.
At present we have a vacancy and have advertised for a new incumbent. Others on the ministry and parish leadership team include the Curate, Revd Sabina Alkire, Janet Proudman LLM, Petronella Spivey LLM, Shei Crowther, Ruth Rundle and Rosy Hancock.
The Alban Prayer
Among the roses of the martyrs brightly shines Saint Alban.
We thank you for this place built to your glory
and in memory of Alban, our first martyr.
Following his example in the fellowship of the saints,
may we worship and adore the true and living God,
and be faithful witnesses to the Christ,
who is alive and reigns, now and for ever.
Pray for us Alban, pray for us all Saints of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Sunday 9.30am, Sung Eucharist
Friday 7.30am Morning Liturgy (combined Morning Prayer + Eucharist)
